The School of English, Journalism and European Languages offers majors and/or minors in the following areas:
A major is made up of a sequence of theme or subject-area focused units.
Many of our units are also available to be taken as degree or student electives within the Bachelor of Arts which means that, even if you don't intend to major or minor in one of these areas, there is still the scope to include some of the individual units within your degree.

Other degrees, including the Bachelor of Contemporary Arts, Bachelor of Social Science, and Bachelor of Business may also encourage you to introduce breadth into your study plan by taking student electives from outside of your core study areas.

The School of English, Journalism and European Languages offers Honours and Postgraduate Coursework level specialisations in the following areas:
Combined specialisations, created from within the areas offered by the School or in partnership with other schools in the Faculty of Arts, may be possible on a case-by-case basis.
Students interested in a combined specialisation should first discuss this possibility with an ARTS Student Central staff member.
The School of English, Journalism and European Languages offers Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) in the following broad areas:
At the Higher Degree level it is not unusual for projects to involve multi-disciplinary expertise and a supervision team may, from time-to-time, include staff from outside of the School, Faculty or University.
More information about the research strengths of the School of English, Journalism and European Languages, the available areas of HDR supervision, how to identify a Research Project and how to apply for admission is available here.
