IELTS Test Preparation - One-day workshops*

Intermediate level English or Pathway English 4

This workshop with provide you with the skills and strategies you need for the IELTS test as well as other tests of English language proficiency.

IELTS Test Preparation workshops are designed to help you develop test-taking strategies that will assist you in maximising your test score for a range of purposes including academic study or professional registration. The workshop includes:

  • Diagnosing existing strengths and weaknesses
  • Identifying individual high-value strategies for success
  • Developing specific listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
  • Improving confidence by developing a direct, natural approach to test-taking
  • Ways to develop independent learning and techniques for self-correction
  • Activities to encourage critical and analytical thinking

With a focus on teaching strategies required for success, you are encouraged to develop a range of skills designed to build confidence and maximise scores. The course is supported by a range of print and digital resources and is underpinned by a teaching methodology that combines classroom teaching with interactive web-based independent learning activities.

The UTAS English Language Centre is an official IELTS testing centre and tests are available on both the Hobart and Launceston campuses.

  • *Part-time courses are not available to student visa applicants
  • Course available only to UTAS students and Tasmanian residents who meet the language prerequisite
  • Quotas apply - the English Language Centre reserves the right to limit the number of students in any course
