The University of Tasmania offers a wonderful teaching and learning environment for international study groups.
Our Group Study Tour Programs offer a great mix of academic studies and cultural activities at one of Australia’s top universities while living in the beautiful island State of Tasmania.
The University of Tasmania ‘s two Language Centres based in Hobart and Launceston, have a strong reputation in delivering customised programs to suit the specific needs of groups of international learners aged 18 years and over. Both campuses are located in safe and friendly historic cities, with all the modern conveniences, yet close enough for a short excursion to pristine wilderness and unique flora and fauna.
Programs vary in size and duration and can be tailored to include general English development and practice as well as providing for specific professional, career or special–interest needs.
Combination Programs can also be provided.
Depending on your needs, our Study Tour packages may include some or all of the following features:

Group Study Tour Programs are designed to provide students with a comprehensive and rewarding experience whilst in Australia.
Students will gain knowledge, skills and awareness that enable them to interact responsibly with people from different cultures, who may have different viewpoints and values.
Students will gain an awareness that they are part of a global society, through sharing experiences within the University community and with other Australians from different cultures and backgrounds, especially whilst staying with an Australian family.
Students will be able to enjoy a number of cultural, tourist and leisure activities that can provide opportunities to practise newly-acquired language skills. Activities may include but are not limited to - bushwalking, golf, historic walks and sightseeing, volunteer activities,* horse riding, sea kayaking, white-water rafting, eco-tours, wildlife parks and iconic day tours such as a visit to the famous Port Arthur historic site.
Other activities include the Tahune Airwalk and a visit to Hastings Caves, Bruny Island Eco Adventure cruise and Wineglass Bay. See http://www.discovertasmania.com.au/

A choice of accommodation options is available in Hobart and Launceston. Our placement into Homestay accommodation provides a unique combination of cultural and linguistic experiences. Hostel, hotel and (depending on time of year), University dormitory- style accommodation is also available.

Costs for group programs vary depending on program length, content, choice of accommodation and activities selected.
You must also check for visa requirements. Many tour groups will use a Visitor’s Visa which is valid for up to 3 months.
