Lisa teaches in the English program, and has particular interest in popular and literary historical fiction, and the representation of place in diverse cultural fields. She has published in a range of journals including the Journal of Commonwealth Literature, the Journal of Interdisciplinary Gender Studies, and new literatures review.

Her monograph, Historical Romance Fiction: Heterosexuality and Performativity,was published by Ashgate in 2008 and the e-book is scheduled for publication in 2010. She has also published two text guides in the Insight Text Guide series: Martin Scorsese’s The Age of Innocence, and Tracy Chevalier’s Girl with a Pearl Earring.

She is currently writing Cave (with Ralph Crane) for Reaktion Books’ ‘Earth Series’ (to be published in 2013).
