UTAS presents a wide range of public events including formal lectures, exhibitions, seminars and concerts, many of them in collaboration with other organisations. We invite you to join us and to enjoy the expertise and talent of our staff, students and many distinguished visitors.
The Unit is responsible for the development and management of high-profile events that will increase the University’s social, cultural and strategic engagement with business, industry, government and the community.
Events include graduations, dinners and award ceremonies, public lectures, launches and openings, concerts and exhibitions.
The Unit is also responsible for the UTAS Events website and the listing of events on the University's website.
The Unit is responsible for advice and policy on protocol governing University activities, events and interaction with government and the community.
The Director, Events and Protocol, is also the Chair of the Cultural Activities Committee, which oversees cultural activities funding for outreach programs.
Building and supporting the UTAS brand is important to the reputation and public recognition of the University. The Unit ensures that the University’s visual standards are appropriately applied and incorporate the best use of the UTAS logos.
The first point of contact with the University for members of the public is usually through the University switchboard. The UTAS switchboard operators are part of the Unit, ensuring that the first point of contact will be a friendly and positive contribution to the UTAS brand.
