The Online Electronic Mail Directory via the 'finger' protocol to Eudora clients.
The source for the directory is the same as that provided by the web based
directory lookup at
http://www.its.utas.edu.au/cgi-bin/CommsDir.pl
but has the advantage of being accessible directly from within Eudora
(or any other program that supports the finger protocol).
To configure Eudora set your "finger server" to be
directory.utas.edu.au
(the location of the config information is outlined at the end of this
message).
To look up an email address type your query in the 'query'
(or 'Command') field and then choose the "Finger" (instead of "ph") button.
Help on the format of queries is available by searching for 'help'.
(help is also displayed when your query doesn't return any email addresses).
The details for configuration and query vary from version to version of Eudora
along the following lines:
