UTAS offers a wide range of Enabling Programs to assist commencing students with their study. Programs include the University Preparation Program, Thinking & Writing at University and Foundation Units.
These programs equip commencing students with valuable skills needed to succeed at university and Foundation Units are suitable for people who do not have the necessary prerequisite subjects to embark on their chosen degree.
Ready for Uni sessions prepare you administratively for Uni by covering matters such as an introduction to your faculty and your course, as well as walking you through the enrolment processes.
UniStart aims to help you develop the essential skills required for independent learning and success at University, such as critical thinking, critical reading and academic writing.
UniStart consists of:
- a choice of face-to-face lectures and tutorials or online tutorials and activities before semester begins,
- access to online resources throughout the year, and
- workshops and individual learning skills consultations available throughout the year to support your learning.
Orientation marks the beginning of your university studies and is designed to familiarise you with university life. Orientation Week will provide you with information to fully prepare you for the start of semester, in addition to familiarising you with the services and facilities available on each campus.
