2013 marks the centenary of the founding of Hobart High School and its successor institutions, Hobart Matriculation College and Hobart College. To celebrate the significant milestone in educational attainment for Tasmania, the Old Hobartian Association has launched an appeal to former students and to the wider community to raise the capital funds needed to create a perpetual scholarship. The Old Hobartian Centenary Scholarship from 2013 onwards will annually support students graduating from Hobart College to study in any discipline at the University of Tasmania (UTAS).
The term "Old Hobartian" describes the old scholars of all three forms of the school. The Old Hobartian Association still actively engages former students and has initiated this scholarship. The Association hopes you'll share its vision by donating to the appeal.
"As an old scholar of Hobart High School I urge you to support the OHA Appeal. Few things will last forever, but your donation now to this scholarship should see an enduring memorial to our school's first 100 years. I know too how valuable support was when I enrolled at UTAS. Our collective efforts now can make that happen each year of the school's next century - and beyond."
