Undergraduate (including Honours)

Diploma in Languages

This course is available in Hobart, and may be undertaken part time over two years or a maximum of three consecutive years. The languages available are Chinese, French, German, Indonesian and Japanese at Hobart, and Chinese and Indonesian at Launceston.

Bachelor of Arts

This 3-year (minimum) course is available at Hobart, Launceston and the North-West Centre at Burnie. The Bachelor of Arts degree is an opportunity to develop a set of skills, knowledge and cultural awareness that will be invaluable throughout the rest of your life. Students may undertake a major in French or take a selection of individual French units as degree electives.

Bachelor of Arts with Honours

This on-campus, 1 year full time course is available at Hobart and Launceston. The Bachelor of Arts with Honours course allows candidates to pursue in-depth study in the discipline or disciplines of their choice.

 

Postgraduate Coursework

Graduate Certificate in Arts (Specialisation)

This on-campus, one semester full-time (or, up to 2 consecutive years part-time) course is available at Hobart and/or Launceston (not all specialisations are available on both campuses). The following speclisations are available within the GradCertArts(Spec): Aboriginal Studies, Asian Studies, Australian Studies, Chinese, Classical and Medieval Studies, English, French, German, History, Indonesian, Japanese, Philosophy (incorporating Gender Studies), and Social Research.

Graduate Diploma in Arts (Specialisation)

This on-campus, one year full-time (or, up to 4 consecutive years part-time) course is available at Hobart and/or Launceston (not all specialisations are available on both campuses). The following speclisations are available within the GradCertArts(Spec): Aboriginal Studies, Asian Studies, Australian Studies, Chinese, Classical and Medieval Studies, English, French, German, History, Indonesian, Japanese, Philosophy (incorporating Gender Studies), and Social Research.

Higher Degrees by Research (MA, PhD)

A higher degree by research provides candidates with an opportunity to undertake focussed research under supervision for several years in order to make a significant contribution within the chosen research area.
