I am the Degree Coordinator for the Bachelor of Spatial Science (73G) undergraduate program.
I coordinate and teach the following second and third year undergraduate units within the Bachelor of Surveying and Spatial Science program:
KGG307 Geodesy: Observing our changing planet
KGG306 Global Navigation Satellite Systems
1994 - Bachelor of Surveying (UTAS)
1996 - Bachelor of Surveying (Honours, First Class) (UTAS)
2002 - PhD (UTAS) “An Investigation of Glaciological and Meteorological Parameters in the Lambert Glacier Basin Using High Precision GPS Strategies.”
My research interests have focused on the Geodesy sub-discipline of Spatial Science. Geodesy is the study of the Earth's dynamic shape, size and gravitational field. Modern space geodetic observations underpin a broad number of scientific fields of research that address questions of direct societal relevance; the study of regional and global changes in mean sea level, quantifying changes to polar ice caps, determining the velocity of tectonic plates, measurement of surface deformation associated with geo-hazards and understanding changes in hydrology based on time variable gravity and associated ground deformation.
In my research I have primarily investigated the ability of Global Navigation Satellite Systems to assist in our understanding of glacial motion, ice shelf dynamics and tropospheric water vapour content in Antarctica.
