For the past few years I have taught practical GIS skill to 4th year Engineers as part of the Construction Management unit (KNE414). In previous years I have also provided assistance on a number of the GIS and Remote Sensing units offered in Spatial Science, this has included a number of lectures, practical supervision and marking.
I am currently writing a PhD titled “Environmental change detection using hyperspatial and hypertemporal data captured using a multi-sensor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in the context of coastal erosion”. I am part of a team supervised by Dr Arko Lucieer that is developing a framework for UAV data acquisition and analysis. UAV provide an exciting new technique for mapping the environment at higher resolution than ever before. We are working at the forefront of UAV-based remote sensing for environmental, mining and agricultural applications.
