The courses provide students with the capacity to work for the conservation and sustainable management of Australia's natural environments. The courses consider parks and protected areas, state forests and natural areas on private property. Extensive use of case studies provides students with practical examples of how to deal with the major issues facing natural environments. Graduate Diploma students undertake an industry placement that provides opportunities to apply the knowledge gained in the course.
Students are welcome from all disciplines. Entry requirements are a bachelor degree or equivalent from any discipline at credit level or better. You can apply for admission online at the Student Centre.
The Graduate Diploma can be completed in one year full-time or two years part-time.
The Masters can be completed in one and a half years full-time and up to four years part time.
The courses can lead to positions in conserving and managing natural environments. People with expertise in natural environmental management are sought after by protected area management agencies; local, state and federal governments; community organisations and private consulting firms.
The courses can be studied full-time or part-time at our Hobart campus or by Distance Education. The Graduate Certificate is fully articulated with the Graduate Diploma.
The Environmental Management postgraduate courses are HECS based for domestic students. Fees for overseas students.
