The University actively seeks out partners who share our vision and passion for world-class teaching and high-impact research outcomes.
The Australian Government’s 2012 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) exercise confirmed UTAS as one of the nation’s top ten universities. The ERA’s highest possible ranking, reserved for outstanding research, was awarded in nine specific discipline areas at UTAS: clinical sciences; analytical chemistry; geology; oceanography; ecology; evolutionary biology; plant biology; forestry sciences; agriculture; land and farm managements. This disciplinary excellence is representative of the outstanding research culture across all UTAS Faculties, Schools and Institutes and the university’s significant interdisciplinary capability.

For our more than 29,000 students, UTAS offers a truly internationalised curricula and broad access to a diverse range of international student exchanges and learning experiences to shape future global leaders. UTAS also offers a small number of high-quality teaching programs offshore, in partnership with reputable institutions.
Comprehensive internationalisation of our campus, curriculum, and student experience embeds an ethos of international, intercultural and global perspectives across the University’s three pillars of students, research and community, ultimately strengthening our reputation as a global university and leader in higher education and research.
