The Davey and Scurrah Advanced Studies Bursary (Rule 58)
The Tasmanian financial planning firm, Davey and Scurrah, will offer an annual bursary to a fourth year student in the School of Medicine. The Academic Senate has agreed to establish a bursary with these rules:
Rules
- The bursary will be known as “The Davey and Scurrah Advanced Studies Bursary”.
- The bursary will be awarded annually to an Australian student demonstrating financial need and undertaking a project as part of the advanced studies unit in the Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery course.
- The bursary will be awarded by a selection committee comprising:
- The Dean of the Faculty of Health Science or nominee
- The coordinator of the Advanced Studies unit
- The Chair of the Prizes and Scholarships Committee in the School of Medicine
- The Associate Head of Student Affairs in the School of Medicine
- The selection committee will set the selection criteria for the bursary as well as advertising and application procedures.
- A student already in receipt of another scholarship or bursary provided by the University of Tasmania for a particular year is ineligible to receive this bursary for that year.
- The value of the award will be $500, or any other sum determined by Davey and Scurrah from time to time.
