The Harry Bloom Memorial Prize (Rule 10)
The Council of the University of Tasmania in pursuance of, and in exercise of the powers conferred by, the Ordinance of Endowments, Prizes and Scholarships and the University of Tasmania Act 1992 hereby makes the following Rule:
Whereas the sum of $5235 has been donated to establish a prize in honour of the memory of the late Professor Harry Bloom and whereas that sum has been paid to and received by the University on the terms of these Rules
Rules
- The said sum of $5235 together with all accumulations of income shall form the endowment of a prize to be known as ‘The Harry Bloom Memorial Prize: Chemistry 4’.
- The prize shall be the sum of $300 or such other sum as the Council by resolution may from time to time determine.
- The prize shall be awarded each year to the student who obtains the highest placing in Chemistry based on the overall honours assessment and who achieves first class honours.
- If in any year no student achieves first class honours in Chemistry 4 the prize shall not be awarded in that year.
