Sociology 200 Essay Prize (Rule 30)
The Sociology Discipline has donated the proceeds from the 1996 TASA Conference funded by the School of Sociology and Social Work to endow a prize in sociology. The donor has asked that the prize be awarded to the author of the best essay in Sociology 200. The Council of the University has agreed to the foundation of a prize on the terms set out in these Rules.
Rules
- The amount of $2,918.19, together with any interest from time to time, forms the endowment of a prize to be called the Sociology 200 Essay Prize.
- The prize will be awarded annually to the author of the best essay in Sociology 200.
- The annual value of the prize will be set by the Scholarships Management Committee from time to time, having regard to the income from the endowment.
- All Sociology 200 students are eligible for the prize.
- The winner of the prize will be selected by the Head of School and the Sociology Year 2 Coordinator, who may decide to share the prize between two or more students.
