The MS Gregory Prize in Surveying (Rule 43)

Whereas Dr MS Gregory, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering [now the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering] in the University of Tasmania in 1978 and 1979, has given the University the sum of $400 with the object of establishing a prize in Surveying and whereas the said sum has been paid to and accepted by the Council of the University of Tasmania which has agreed to the foundation of the prize in the terms declared in these rules, it is hereby provided as follows:

  1. The aforesaid sum together with any accumulation of income from time to time thereto shall form the endowment of a prize to be known as The MS Gregory Prize in Surveying.
  2. The Prize shall be awarded annually to the candidate who:
    (a) Shows the greatest proficiency in the subjects of the First Examination in the Bachelor of Surveying degree [now the Bachelor of Geomatics]; and
    (b) Has not previously presented for examination in any of these subjects.
     
    The current value of the award is $60.
