North-Eastern Art & Craft Association Scholarship (Rule 71)
To celebrate thirty years promoting the arts in North-East Tasmania, the governing committee of the North-Eastern Art and Craft Association has decided to establish a scholarship to mark the achievement and to encourage and support students from the Dorset Municipality to study in the fine arts at the University of Tasmania.
The Academic Senate of the University has agreed to establish an endowed scholarship in the terms declared in these rules.
Rules
- An amount of $15,000 donated by the North-Eastern Art & Craft Association (NEACA) to the University of Tasmania, together with any interest from time to time forms the endowment of a scholarship to be called the " North-Eastern Art & Craft Association Scholarship".
- The scholarship is to be awarded annually to a resident of the Dorset Municipality who commences an undergraduate course in the fine arts at the University of Tasmania.
- The scholarship will be awarded by a selection committee comprising:
- The Head of the School of Art or a nominee
- The Head of the School of Visual & Performing Arts or a nominee
- A nominee of NEACA while they wish to be involved; and
- After the end of the involvement of a NEACA nominee, the Mayor of Dorset or nominee
- The selection committee will set the detailed selection and performance criteria having regard to the intention of the endowment.
- The Scholarships Management Committee will set the annual value of the scholarship from time to time, having regard to the income from the endowment.
- The Scholarships Management Committee will determine all other matters concerning the scholarship, including advertising, application procedures and the method and time of payment.
