Professor Newton Barber Tasmania Honours Scholarship in Plant Science (Rule 75)
The late Professor Newton Barber was the foundation Professor of Botany at the University of Tasmania. The two major research directions initiated by him, physiological genetics of peas and ecological genetics of eucalypts, remain among the most active research areas of the School of Plant Science.
To recognise his legacy to the University, the School of Plant Science has agreed to fund an honours scholarship to encourage talented students to pursue research in the discipline.
The Academic Senate of the University sets out the revised rules of that scholarship in these rules, which replace the “HN Barber Scholarship” rules.
