The University Club Tasmania Honours Scholarship (Rule 106)

The University Club Inc, which provides services to members at the University of Tasmania, has decided to offer financial support to students at the University by funding two annual scholarships to encourage enrolment in honours level study.
The Academic Senate of the University has agreed to the foundation of a scholarship.  These are the rules:

Rules
  1. The scholarship will be known as “The University Club Tasmania Honours Scholarship.”
  2. The scholarship is to be awarded to a student who has already completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Tasmania and is enrolling to undertake honours level study in any faculty of the University.
  3. The scholarship will be awarded by a selection committee comprising: 
    • the Chair of Academic Senate or nominee; 
    • the President of the University Club or another Club Committee Member nominee; and  
    • an office holder of the University Club Committee.  
  4. The selection committee will set the detailed selection criteria for the Scholarship.
  5. The Scholarship may not be held with any other scholarship provided through the University of Tasmania.
  6. The scholarship is tenable for one year of full-time study, or for two years of part-time study if so approved by the selection committee.  
  7. The annual value of the scholarship is $2,000 or any greater amount agreed by the University Club Inc, from time to time.
  8. The up-front cost of the Commonwealth Supported Place levied on each recipient of the University Club Tasmania Honours Scholarship for their honours course will be paid by University of Tasmania Foundation from its General Scholarships Trust each year for 10 years from the commencement of these rules.
  9. The Scholarships Management Committee will determine all other matters concerning the scholarship, including advertising, application procedures and the method and time of payment..
