Rules
- A scholarship to be called ‘The Webster Limited Scholarship’ (hereinafter referred to as ‘the scholarship’) is hereby founded under the terms and conditions of these rules.
- The scholarship shall be advertised from time to time as finance is made available by Webster Limited and shall be tenable by a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree course.
- The scholarship may be awarded either to a student who is about to enrol in a degree course for the first time, or to a student who has already completed one or more years of the course.
- The scholarship shall be awarded by a committee comprising the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering and a member nominated by the Board of Webster Limited. In considering applications for the scholarship, the committee shall take into account the financial means as well as the academic qualifications of the applicants.
- The scholarship shall be tenable for the duration of the degree course provided that the scholar’s progress in each year of the course is considered by the Selection Committee to be satisfactory. If in any year the committee considers that the scholar’s progress has been unsatisfactory it may terminate the scholarship or suspend it for one year. In the latter event it may re-award the scholarship to the same student after a further academic year, if it considers that his academic record in that year justifies such action.
- The scholar may apply for a position in Webster Limited at the completion of his degree course, but there shall be no obligation on his part to do so, nor on the part of the Company to select him for such position.
- The value of the award shall be determined from time to time by Webster Limited.
