The General Counsel & University Secretary's Office facilitates the major decision-making processes of the University. These are the processes through which the University determines its strategic directions and its future shape and activities.
The General Counsel & University Secretary's Office provides an advisory, consultative, secretarial and executive service to: the Chancellor; the University Council and its Committees; the Vice-Chancellor and other major decision-making bodies within the University. The General Counsel & University Secretary's Office monitors governance structures and process and recommends and implements improvements in them.
The General Counsel & University Secretary's is also the senior in-house lawyer employed by the University.
