Welcome to the Records Management Unit

The Records Management Unit (RMU) of Governance & Legal is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the information captured into the university's corporate recordkeeping system (TRIM) - from creation to archival retention or disposal.

The Records Management Unit are NOT responsible for producing Academic Transcripts or responsible for enquiries regarding student records. If you require a transcript, please visit the UTAS Examinations & Results Academic Transcripts website http://www.studentcentre.utas.edu.au/examinations_and_results/records/records_academic_transcripts.htm where you can download the appropriate form.

The RMU will maintain the integrity of the University's records through the application of sound record management practices. Fundamental to these practices are-

  • Control over the quality and quantity of records produced.
  • Control over the creation of files in order to prevent unnecessary duplication of records.
  • Control over the storage, preservation and disposal of records.
  • Provision of advice and assistance to all areas of the University.
  • To identify recordkeeping requirements.
  • Provision of training in records mangement practices
  • "System Administration" of the Corporate Recordkeeping System (TRIM)

Please contact us if you have any questions or any suggestions as to how we may improve our services to you.
