Total Records Information Management
(TRIM)
TRIM is a single off-the-shelf software application
which the University of Tasmania has selected to manage its electronic
and paper corporate records. The product provides:
Workflow
Image management
Document management
Web Publishing
Email Management and;
Records Management
All Microsoft Office applications interface with TRIM. This ensures
that all corporate documents can be saved with as little disruption
as possible to normal work processes.
The TRIM Top Drawer facility provides you with a valuable tool
for managing draft documents before saving them into TRIM. An interface
has been designed to capture both incoming and outgoing Lotus Notes
e-mails into TRIM. All other corporate information will be scanned,
registered and forwarded via TRIM where possible and appropriate.
Currently TRIM is being used by the Vice-Chancellor's Office, Deputy
Vice-Chancellor's Office, Pro Vice-Chancellor's Offices, Executive
Director Finance & Administration Office, Academic Administration
and Senior Managers, Director of Financial & Business Services,
Governance & Legal, Director of PRUE and Asset Management Services
to capture and manage their corporate information.
Consideration is currently being given to rolling out TRIM to other
Sections & Divisions of the University to ensure that all corporate
information is being captured and managed in accordance with current
legislative, legal and business practices.
