The Graduate Certificate in Art, Design and Environment is an experientially based program that draws together creative practice and environmental awareness. Visual artists and designers will develop their technical and conceptual skills through immersive field trips to significant Tasmanian historical, industrial and wilderness locations. National and international issues and debates are explored within a regional context.
The Graduate Certificate in Art, Design and Environment is offered by the Tasmanian School of Art at Hobart. It can be completed in a minimum of one semester full-time or a maximum of one year part-time.
The GDADE aims to develop graduates
- understanding of the role and potential of art and design as effective tools for interpretation and interrogation of the natural, wilderness and developed environments;
- ability to employ creative problem solving and visual communication skills in addressing complex environmental, political and social issues;
- applicable knowledge comprising an interconnected mix of creative, technological and environmental histories and practices to diverse international circumstances.
