Police Studies

Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters

These courses provide thorough grounding in policing theory and practice, the skills to engage in informed debate about policing issues in contemporary society, knowledge of recent developments in the field, and the skills to conduct and appraise research. The programs are aimed at practicing policing professionals, and provide mid-career training.

Graduate Certificate in Police Studies

Location - Hobart
Fees - Full-fee paying
Intake - February and July
Duration - Minimum 0.5 years (1 sem), maximum 2 years (4 sem)

The successful completion of this program consists of three core units:


Graduate Diploma in Police Studies

Location - Hobart
Fees - Full-fee paying
Intake - February and July
Duration - Minimum 1 year (2 sem), maximum 2 years (4 sem)

The Graduate Diploma articulates from the Graduate Certificate, and requires an additional two units, which are selected from a range of electives on offer.


Master of Police Studies

Location - Hobart
Fees - Full-fee paying
Intake - February and July
Duration - Minimum 1.5 years (3 sem), maximum 3 years (6 sem)

The Police Studies Masters allows for student to continue their studies by undertaking an independent Research Project on an approved topic. This can be completed either part-time, or full-time.
