Clinical Supervision and Clinical Leadership

Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master

The aim of the course is to enhance the quality of clinical supervision and clinical leadership through a health focused leadership program.

The UTAS and Sydney South West Area Health Service (SSWAHS) have a partnership that is driven by a shared vision to prepare a health professional workforce that is industry ready. SSWAHS recognises the enormous challenges and changes in health service delivery and the nature of health workforce.

There is a particular imperative to ensure strong leadership and governance in health systems. National and international studies have demonstrated repeatedly the benefits, in terms of reduced risk and better quality care that flow from effective leadership and well designed clinical systems that are subject to regular multidisciplinary review of outcomes.

Teaching, training, education and research all contribute to a culture and environment of inquiry, learning and reflection, which is crucial to service quality. Workplace training is vital to assure a highly skilled, pro-active and capable health workforce.
