Academic Dress Information for Staff

The Events & Protocol Office does not provide academic dress for staff members. Staff members wishing to participate in a graduation ceremony should provide their own academic dress.

Purchase of Academic Dress

Academic Dress can be purchased through the University Shop on the Sandy Bay campus, or direct from the supplier, Raymond W. Bredin & Sons Pty Ltd in Melbourne.

Hire of Academic Dress

Academic Dress can be hired from the University Shop, Sandy Bay. For further information please contact Patsy Makarewicz by email: Patsy.Makarewicz@utas.edu.au or phone: 03 6226 2857. Bookings for academic dress should be made two weeks prior to a graduation ceremony.

Information for Hire of Academic Dress for the Sydney graduation ceremony

Any staff members who wish to hire academic with the intention of participating in the Sydney Graduation ceremony should –

For staff members based in Sydney, complete and follow the procedures for hiring (PDF 65.8KB) from the University Shop, Sandy Bay.
For staff members based in Tasmania, email the University Shop Patsy.Makarewicz@utas.edu.au prior to 21 March.

NOTE: Staff members should be aware that there will not be academic dress available for you at the venue if bookings have not been made in accord with the procedures outlined above,
