This unit examines the governance platforms that transform the rhetoric of 'thinking globally, acting locally' into a policy platform that can deliver sustainable communities. The unit draws on sustainable development as a policy framework and a range of local and international examples of sustainable community governance practice to illustrate the key governance platforms that support sustainable community policy strategies.
