A Master of Education research degree enables a candidate to undertake a program of research and advanced study in a specialist field. The research takes place over 2 years of study or equivalent part-time and normally results in a thesis or equivalent of traditionally circa 30,000 words written in English.
Topics for Masters degrees in the Faculty of Education will reflect the candidate's own interests and the research expertise of their supervisors. Further information on the research areas of interests of supervisors in education can be found by browsing the Faculty of Education people pages which can be found at http://fcms.its.utas.edu.au/educ/educ/people.asp. Further details about the research and supervision activity of particular individuals can be found by using a name search or a key word search on 'education' in the Web Access Research Portal (WARP) site.
The campus of study will vary depending on the location of the candidate, the supervisor and the research field.
