Music Materials 1B continues study of the materials of tonal music through analysis, aural skills and voice-leading exercises. Students will further their fluency in music reading and notation through reading and written work using terminology appropriate to varying musical styles. Aural and sight-reading skills will be developed based on the written materials studied, including dictation skills in rhythm, melody and harmony, identification of intervals and chords, sightsinging and rhythm reading. Students will participate in an aural choir project during the semester.

Units are offered in attending mode unless otherwise indicated (that is attendance is required at the campus identified). A unit identified as offered by distance, that is there is no requirement for attendance, is identified with a nominal enrolment campus.
