SPECIAL NOTE: second year core unit for International Relations major
DESCRIPTION This is one of two second year core units for all students undertaking the International Relations major. It is primarily concerned with changing power structures in contemporary international relations. Attention will also be directed toward those issue-areas (security, terrorism, globalisation) that promise to dominate international relations for the foreseeable future. The unit is specifically designed for students to develop greater awareness of the factors that underlie foreign policy decision-making as the great powers endeavour to maximise their interests in the contemporary international system.
