Between the Highland rebellion of 1745 and the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 Britain engaged in four major wars with France, was influenced by the American and French revolutions, and generated the first Industrial Revolution. This unit examines the formation of modern Britain and its empire in this dramatic and dynamic period.
