Bachelor of Human Movement Studies (BHMS)

Course code: E3F
This on-campus 4-year (minimum) full-time course was introduced in 1995 and is offered through the Faculty of Education's Centre for Human Movement Studies at the Launceston campus.

Admission requirements & prerequisites
Minimum University entry requirements apply. Applicants are advised to study TCE subjects relevant to the Human Movement program. Applicants may be required to attend selection interviews and tests.

Course objectives
The Bachelor of Human Movement Studies is designed to provide students with professional skills, and the knowledge and understanding of human movement to equip them for employment primarily in schools as physical education teachers at primary and secondary levels; or within the sport, recreation, health and fitness industries.

Course structure
Students must complete a core program in the first two years of full-time study, prior to some specialisation in years 3 and 4. The course includes aspects of Sports Science, Health and Exercise Science, and Health, Fitness and Sports Management, with one of the primary focal points being the preparation of physical education teachers for primary and secondary schools.
