Given Tasmania’s demographics, the Faculty has a strong focus on rural health and places a high emphasis on rural clinical experiences for its undergraduate students. The Faculty has a presence across each of the three Tasmanian campuses; Hobart, Launceston and Cradle Coast as well as two Sydney campuses, Rozelle which teaches Nursing and Paramedic Practice and Darlinghurst which only delivers Nursing.
The Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services and the Faculty of Health Science have a formal collaborative partnership and are committed to developing closer working relationships. The Faculty receives excellent support and cooperation from the health sector and from health professional bodies. These relationships underpin the extensive clinical practices our students undertake as part of their degree program.
The Faculty of Health Science offers excellent facilities, with modern laboratories, up-to-date technical equipment and tele-health and video-conferencing options. Students have access to computer laboratories and extensive library facilities, including electronic information resources.
