Community delve, dream and discover at Cradle Coast Open Day

Despite wet and wintry conditions, around 900 people converged on the University of Tasmania's Cradle Coast campus yesterday (Sunday, 6 August) to attend another successful Open Day event.

The University of Tasmania welcomed visitors of all ages to its Mooreville Road and West Park sites where they were invited to chart a course towards future careers with the help of higher education.

Highlights in this year’s program included the Rural Clinical School’s bandaging with bears activity and life-size game of operation, an origami exercise hosted by the Faculty of Education, a remote-controlled ATV obstacle course presented by the University College, the Australian Maritime College sailing simulator, University Motorsport Team Formula One vehicle and West Park’s futuristic technology hub.

Face painting, Slipstream Circus workshops and the photo booth corner also proved popular, while staff provided information about the New State of Mind curriculum and campus services, and local students shared their experiences of university life.
