The global hazards of smoking and benefits of a tobacco tax will be the focus of a seminar to be presented at the University of Tasmania in April, by Professor Prabhat Jha.
Based at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, at the University of Toronto, Canada, Professor Prabhat Jha is also Centre for Global Health Research Director at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.
His research interests include large-scale epidemiology studies of the major causes of death in developing countries (such as tobacco, alcohol, blood pressure, blood cholesterol, indoor air pollution, fertility) and tobacco control policy in developed and developing countries
Hosted by The Menzies Institute for Medical Research and the Faculty of Health’s School of Medicine, the seminar will be chaired by The Menzies Institute’s Doctor Seana Gall.
