Implicit Attitudes
1. Learning Objectives
The key learning objective for this prac is:
- To develop understanding of implicit attitudes.
This week, you will participate in an online activity designed highlight the roles of implicit attitudes in person perception.
2. Complete the Online Activity
- Go to https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/selectatest.html
- Select the Age IAT exercise (at the bottom of the page). Follow the instructions on the screen to load up the exercise.
- Read the instructions carefully, so you know what to do.
- Complete the task (note: you can skip the questionnaires at the end if you want to).
3. Review of the Activity
- What did your results show? Did you show an implicit preference for certain types of faces? If so, were you aware of it?
- Why do you think this implicit attitude exists (in general, even if you don't show evidence of it)?
