In the School of Human Life Sciences, research is primarily focussed on discovering the mechanisms, therapeutic targets and lifestyle interventions (nutrition and exercise) for the treatment of some chronic physical diseases including vascular disease (cardiac, renal and diabetic), inflammatory and pre-malignant gut disease, and haematological disorders.

Many research areas overlap and several staff from the School of Pharmacy are involved in collaborative research in these areas.
