If you are a student without a TCE science background, or an alternate entry or mature age student returning to study, BioStart will provide some science study skills and basic principles of chemistry. It is designed to introduce students to the subject matter and culture of teaching and learning that they will encounter in the School of Human Life Sciences.
Summer semester enrolment in CXA001 BioStart is available ONLY to those students who have been offered a place in the Bachelor of Health Science, Bachelor of Education (Health & Physical Activity) Bachelor of Physical Activity Studies & Riawunna students. Also, Associate Degree in General Studies students who are enrolled in CXA161 Introduction to Human Biology and KRA161 Chemistry for Life Sciences are also eligible to enrol in this unit. Biostart Summer Semester enrolment is also available for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Standing).
Available ONLY for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Paramedic Practice.
Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Paramedic Practice students must enrol in BioStart in the location where they are undertaking their studies:
