On Friday 26 August 2011 50 students attended a Taster Day at the School of Human Life Sciences.
After an early boarding onto the complimentary bus provided by the School of Human Life Sciences, students from the South and North West joined with northern students to attend the interactive day designed to equip them with the knowledge on which to base future study and career choices.
Students were able to choose four out of six workshops in Exercise Science, Biomedical Science, Environmental Health, Health and Nutrition, Medical Radiation Science and Cell Biology taken by Academics from the School. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea breaks, with food provided by the school, gave participants a chance to absorb information gained from their chosen workshops and recharge their batteries in order to get through the full day of events on the itinerary.
In closing students attentively listened to an address from a current student who imparted his experiences on topics such as moving away from home, managing Uni workload and getting the most out of the campus social life!
Photos of this very successful day, together with some student comments can be seen on the Taster Day website.
The 2012 Taster Day information kits will be posted on the website at the end of June 2012 and for further information please contact Sue Musgrave on 6324 5477.
