On Friday 31 August 2012 Students 55 senior secondary students from around the State attended the School of Human Life Sciences Taster day. Students participated in interactive workshops relating to the five undergraduate degrees offered by the School. Workshops included exercise science, environmental health, health and nutrition, medical radiation science, cell biology and biomedical science.
School of Human Life Sciences spokeswoman Sue Musgrave said the workshops are designed to give students practical experience together with information on which to base future study and career decisions.
“The workshops are very hands-on and will be led by our great team of academics,” Ms Musgrave said.
“This is a great opportunity for students to find out more about the range of health science degrees offered in the North and to see the excellent facilities we have within the School of Human Life Sciences.”
The Taster Day will be offered again in 2013 with the information package available by the end of June on the School website: http://www.utas.edu.au/human-life-sciences
