The European Languages and Studies Program offers courses in both French and German languages.
French is spoken all over the world and widely used in many industries and fields of activity. The appeal of French culture, from Descartes to Lacan, from the Palais de Versailles to the Tour Eiffel, from Voltaire to Simone de Beauvoir, from Couperin to Ravel, from Edith Piaf to Céline Dion, from Renoir to Magritte, forms part of world culture and is a fascinating and useful area of study.
Courses in German language skills are also offered for students of all ability levels, from beginners to postgraduate at both the Hobart and Launceston campuses. We offer units on the literature of German speaking countries, extending from the Middle Ages to the present, a unit in business German, as well as units on German film.
