Our program offers undergraduate students the option to undertake a major or minor in Philosophy (units coded HPH) or in Gender Studies (core units coded HAF). We also offer an advanced minor in Asian Philosophy (units coded HPA). We provide a graphic on how to structure your Philosophy major here. And another graphic on the Gender Studies major here.
Most students find the study of Philosophy interesting, but some hesitate to do more than one or two units because they think it is not a practical course of study. If you like Philosophy, you probably like thinking about reasons. So, we offer for your consideration four good reasons to study Philosophy.
Students who are interested in undertaking Honours in Philosophy should contact the Honours Coordinator, David Coady. If you are interested in Masters or PhD, Richard Corry is the postgraduate coordinator.
If you have any other questions about Philosophy or Gender Studies at University of Tasmania, please feel free to contact me. I'm here to help.
