The program has an international profile in research. Study opportunities are enhanced by the quality of its library holdings on classical antiquity, medieval and early modern England, Australian colonial history, and Tasmaniana. On the Hobart campus there is the John Elliott Classics Museum, with an important collection of pottery, sculpture and currency, while off campus there are the State Archives, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in Hobart, and the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston.
Our Centre for Tasmanian Historical Studies publishes Tasmanian Historical Studies and holds an annual conference.
