Bringing the World Back Home is a unique learning experience, enabling students to build personal and social competence as well as intercultural understanding and language skills.
Studying this unit forms part of your travel experience – wherever your overseas travel takes you – to develop an enhanced sense of self and personal identity.
You'll need to document your travel experience to share with your fellow students upon your return. You can choose to write a blog or travel journal, and share photos via Instagram or videos on YouTube. Whatever you decide, you'll have a unique experience to form an important part of your undergraduate qualifications for the future.
In addition, your travel experience will enable you to develop a greater interest in global and international issues, improve language skills and create the enthusiasm to explore other cultures through future travel and potential employment opportunities in coming years.
Finally, you will appreciate a deeper understanding of your own culture and a real sense of engagement and appreciation of different cultures.
