IASOS offers a 3 year science degree which can be followed by the IASOS honours course. Students will choose to follow a physical or life science stream. First year is made up of science units plus two compulsory units, Antarctic Studies 1A and 1B, which are designed to set the background of history, international relations and cultural perceptions and to give students an introduction to the specialised areas of Antarctic science. Both units are also recommended for students from the Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Natural Environment & Wilderness Studies.
