For those who were able to join in the Workshop on Indonesian Arts and Culture in December in Launceston, many, many thanks for your contributions. It was a wonderfully stimulating, enlightening, fun event. The challenge now is, of course, to keep the momentum going. We hope to maintain this website as a site for ongoing exchange of information and opinion about the kind of issues which were discussed at the workshop.

For who were not able to attend, sad commiserations. But you can follow the topics discussed through the paper abstracts, and in some cases also through full papers, which are attached at the base of the abstracts as PDF files. We'll upload more papers as they are sent by the authors.

IN addition video recordings were made of all the sessions. These are currently being edited to make DVD copies, which will be available for sale at cost.

One thing to bring the website alive would be your comments. We warmly invite those who participated in the workshop to write a short comment about their impressions. What was noteworthy, what was fun, what was missing, what might be included next time, what thoughts have occurred to you on reflection.
About 100 words or a little more, sent to Carmencita: (cpalermo@postoffice.utas.edu.au).
She will put them on the web under the link COMMENTS.

If you weren't at the workshop that's no problem, we welcome your contribution too. You can comment on or ask questions about the topics of the papers, or the program, or make your own observations on ‘Arts, Culture and Political and Social Change since Suharto'…
