The IRD offers a regional development program on the Cradle Coast campus on behalf of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology. The program is offered within S6X Graduate Diploma of Science with Honours via the following units:

• KAA400 Regional Science Honours (Full-Time)
• KAA401 Regional Science Honours A (Part-Time)
• KAA402 Regional Science Honours B (Part-Time)

Previous honours projects undertaken have covered topic areas such as:

• Regional Forest Agreement in Tasmania
• Community development in developing nations
• Community capacity building in community organisations
• ICT and Broadband
• Land use planning
• Local government
• Niche agriculture
