PebblePad is the name of the ePortfolio program currently supported within UTAS by Information Technology Resources [ITR] and the Tasmanian Institute of Learning and Teaching [TILT]. It can be used individually or collaboratively for gathering a portfolio of evidence (known as Assets) containing coursework, thoughts/ideas, experiences and achievements for sharing with individuals or groups inside or outside of UTAS. test edit
A user may use the account during the staff/student career at UTAS. After this time, the user has one year to transfer their assets to personal (non-UTAS) account. Accounts that are not migrated will not be maintained by UTAS after this time.
PebblePad discontinuation 2012
The use of PebblePad as the supported ePortfolio tool is being discontinued at the end of 2012 and support ceases on 19 December 2012.
If you have a PebblePad ePortfolio, it is important that you review your account and take the appropriate steps to protect your content before your PebblePad accounts are discontinued on 31 December 2012 (with a grace period of two months).
For information about what to do, see the help page: Important information for PebblePad users 2012.
New MyLO includes an ePortfolio and this will become the supported software for students and staff from January 2013. The new MyLO ePortfolio is already available to staff and students who have an active UTAS username and password.
For information on setting up a new MyLO ePortfolio see:
For teaching and learning support contact e.portfolio@utas.edu.au.
For technical/system support contact Service Desk, T: +61 3 6226 1818, service.desk@utas.edu.au.
All requests for staff, non-UTAS staff or student accounts and gateways will be dealt with as requests are made. To avoid unnecessary delays with account applications it would be beneficial to supply registration information at least two weeks before accounts/Gateways are required. A guide on request estimated timelines is outlined below.
Once a user account is created, the user will receive a message to their UTAS email giving the link to the externally hosted website, username and initial password. A request to change the initial password will be made on system entry.
A user may request that the account password is reset by Service Desk if it is forgotten. The password is not directly linked into UTAS systems and will not be updated through the password sync process.
Note: It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that access to the system and system Gateways is granted. Untimely requests for access cannot guarantee system entry to submit assignments, etc.
